Team 5: w/b 7.03.16

Date: 11th Mar 2016 @ 4:17pm

This week in Team 5 we have been working hard on our multiplication methods in Maths (multiplying four digit numbers by two digit numbers). We began the week focusing upon the grid method, before moving onto long multiplication. I was extremely impressed with how quickly the children adapted to long multiplication, with many of them saying that this was now their preferred method!

Within English lessons we were innovating diary entries as part of our recount text focus. The children were imagining that their classroom had been struck by an earthquake, and recording the events.

This week in school was Fairtrade week, and so Thursday afternoon featured a range of artwork in relation to a fairtrade alphabet display we are creating as a school. We also made some sculptures on Wednesday afternoon in the style of the artist Giacometti, positioning them in running stances to assist with our Daily Mile display!

Friday saw the arrival of the BBC film crew, and I couldn't have been more proud of the children's behaviour and enthusiasm. They were an absolute credit to the school and we had a fantastic day. We are now all looking forward to watching the One Show next week -we will let you know when we find out the exact day of airing!

Have a fantastic weekend, ready for learning again next week!
