Team 5: w/b 27.6.16

Date: 3rd Jul 2016 @ 8:29pm

This week in Team 5 we moved onto our 'invention' stage in English. The children were able to choose any topic they wished to write a persuasive letter about. Their ideas were very individual, and it was great to see them writing about personal interests. I was a very proud teacher reading through the finished letters at the end of the week: definitely their best piece of writing this year. It is amazing to see such excellent progress.

In  Mathematics, we focused upon applying our learning in a range of contexts. The children enjoyed a problem solving lesson on Friday, and enjoyed investigating with regular and irregular shapes on Wednesday.

Wednesday afternoon was great: a whole-school Art afternoon. The children were drawing the portrait of Freddie Eastwood in aid of Gypsy Roma Traveller Month, led by our wonderful Art teacher Mrs Anderson. The children all thoroughly enjoyed this and tried their best, us teachers even had a go too!

We also began to learn more about Judaism in RE. The children created factfiles about the religion, using information that they had gathered independently. They were able to design and present their factfile in any way they wished, and some of the ideas were extremely creative!

I hope everyone has had a good weekend, ready for more learning on Monday!
