Team 5 WB 13.2.23

Date: 17th Feb 2023 @ 4:43pm

It has been another busy week for Team 5 and I think everyone now absolutely deserves of a half term break!

This week we have been writing our own quest stories in English. Children have been inspired by the Arthur and The Golden Rope text to plan and draft their story where a hero overcomes a villain. It is very clear that the children have picked up a lot of skills during this unit and I look forward to reading them over half term.

In maths, we have completed our unit on graphs and we are preparing to start learning about fractions. It would be wonderful if the children start talking about fractions over half term in addition to TT Rockstars.

On Thursday we completed a No Outsiders lesson based on a picture book called How To Heal A Broken Wing that was endorsed by Amnesty International. This certainly started some in depth conversations about many issues including human rights and the definition of empathy. In PSHE, we also had a valuable conversation about appreciating each person in our class as an individual and how to treat each other with kindness.

On Friday we finished with a fantastic Mouse Mania starring fruit kebabs! Yum!

We hope that the children enjoy a restful half term and we look forward to welcoming the children back on Monday 27th February.
