Team 5: w/b 03.05.16

Date: 6th May 2016 @ 3:49pm

This week in Team 5 we concluded our Forces topic in Science, which involved utilising our maths and English skills: we wrote a precis about friction and drew a bar chart to represent our experiment results.

During English, we began inventing a new setting description. The children worked hard to develop their ideas and we began the process of evaluating, editing and redrafting. I am looking forward to reading the children's final drafts at the start of next week!

We focused on number skills this week in maths, consolidating knowledge of negative numbers, place value and fractions. The children became secure with dealing with different types of numbers and applying learnt methods.

Tuesday afternoon, we were visited by the fire service, which the children thoroughly enjoyed. It also marked the end of our Premier Sports sessions, and so from Tuesday 10th May we will have art every Tuesday afternoon. I will continue the PE teaching for the rest of the summer term.

I hope that you all have a fantastic weekend, making the most of the glorious weather we have been promised!
