What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English work this week, we finished writing our non-chronological reports all about the rainforest. We wrote about the animals that live in this habitat, why they live there and finally finished by listing key facts about this incredible habitat.

In spelling, we focussed on adding -ir to words.   You can support this learning at home by practising the following words at home with your child:

-          Irregular

-          Irresponsible

-          Irresistible

-          Irrelevant

In maths, we concluded our learning about shape. We explored parallel lines in shapes, lines of symmetry and then concluded the unit by classifying shapes in numerous ways. We then applied this learning to a range of word problems and real-life scenarios. 

In our afternoon learning, we practised our school sharing assembly and we discussed what makes a good team in circle time. 

A huge thank you to all who were able to come along to our sharing assembly. The children loved showing off their learning!

What is happening this week:

On Monday, reading books will be collected and reading records checked. Please note that new books will not be sent home as it is our final week. Please could you check at home for any school books and return them. Please also ensure that your child has logged five reads for the for the week gone in their reading record.

On Monday afternoon we will be completing our RSE lessons exploring puberty and how there are physical changes as well as emotional changes in the body. As Thursday is our whole school water fight, we won’t be doing PE as it is happening in our usual PE slot. Therefore, please send your child into school on Thursday in their normal school uniform with their water fight clothes etc in a named bag (see previous letter sent out by the office). 

On Friday, our final Mouse Mania for the year with Mrs Caroe is a movie and sweets. Please send your child into school with a small bag of sweets to enjoy during the film. Please note, we are a nut free school so please do not send any items in that contain nuts.
