What a busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our math's learning this week, we have been exploring how to multiply a range of given numbers by 7 and 9. We learnt a range of written and mental strategies to multiply and divide these numbers and then applied this learning to a range of fluency and reasoning problems.

In our English learning this week, we continued learning about the city of Pompeii and explored the different stages of the eruption of the volcano. We then planned to write our very own letter to Tranio and Liv (the two main characters in our class book) about how to keep safe when the volcano erupts.

In our spelling sessions this week, we have been learning how the suffix 'tion' can be added to a root word and the corresponding spelling rules for adding this suffix. You can support your child at home by practising the following spellings:

education

invention

celebration

collection

attraction

action

exaggeration

In our afternoon learning, we learnt how the glands in the mouth help to break down food and the role the teeth play in preparing food to travel through the digestive system, we had our World Book Day carousel activities and also learnt about the might and power of the Roman army.

Have a wonderful weekend Team 4!

Mr Lawrie
