Team 4 Wb 2.5.23

Date: 6th May 2023 @ 4:17pm

What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning this week, we have continued reading our class text ‘When The Giant Stirred’. We explored what happened after the initial earthquake and why the islanders fled to safety as the tidal wave hit the island. We also explored how the characters would have felt at this point in the story and then planned and started writing our very own letters written from the perspective of a child who lived on the island.

In maths, we concluded our learning about finding equivalent fractions and started a new area of learning all about how to add them. We used practical apparatus to help us to understand what adding fractions means and then we looked for patterns and rules to help consolidate this learning.

In our afternoon learning, we learnt how to read OS maps and explored what contours are on these maps. We also had our new delivery of class books for our class library which the children were excited to read.

Have a lovely bank holiday weekend Team 4!
