What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning this week, we carried on reading our class book ‘The One and Only Ivan’ by Anthony Browne. We explored the relationship between the main character ‘Hannah’ and her dad and we used our inference skills to make predictions about what we thought was going to happen next.

In our math’s learning, we learnt how to identify number patterns counting in either thousands, hundreds, tens or ones. We linked this to our prior learning about place value and explored how the different columns change when counting in a pattern. We then used practical apparatus to help us to see the patterns and then applied this learning to a mixture of one step and two-step word problems.

In our afternoon learning, the children learnt how to identify the difference between topographic and satellite OS Maps. We went on a local walk using a topographic map and plotted key features in the area on our very own maps. In French, we consolidated our learning about multiples of ten using Euros to help reinforce this.

Have a fantastic weekend Team 4!
