What a busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning this week, we have been learning how to maintain the past tense in our writing, how to use expanded noun phrases to add description and also how to use language to build a picture in the reader’s mind.

In our spelling work this week, we have been exploring how the /r/ sound can be made by the spelling /wr/. We learnt how to spell a number of words that contained this word. You can reinforce this learning at home by practising the following words with your child:

• Wrong
• Wring
• Wrinkle
• Write

In maths, we explored the place value of four-digit numbers. We used a range of apparatus such as base ten, counters and place value charts to make a range of four-digit numbers and then explored the value of each column within the number. We then applied this learning to a range of everyday problems and word problems to help us apply this skill.

In our afternoon learning, we went swimming on Wednesday morning in PE, in science we learnt how to use a classification chart to classify a range of vertebrates, in art we learnt how to mould and manipulate materials with Mrs Caroe and in French we learnt how to count in multiples of 10 from 0-100.
