Team 3 WB 17.4.23

Date: 21st Apr 2023 @ 10:33am

What a great first week back for Team 3! We have loved hearing all the children’s stories about their easter antics!

We have started our new class text ‘Tilly Mint Tales’ and will enjoy exploring that further within our reading lessons.

In English, we are extremely excited to be learning about different rivers with our text ‘amazing rivers’. Currently, we are in the process of writing a letter to somebody as if we have just had an amazing helicopter ride over the Grand canyon. We have loved using a thesaurus and synonyms to up skill our vocabulary.

In maths, we are continuing to become money experts! This week we are particularly focusing on subtracting with renaming. We have explored many different methods to help us work out our problem and been able to articulate which method is our favourite and why. Well done to our star journals this week! These children have shown excellent effort in presentation, language use and the ability to show and explain different methods.

In History/Geography we have been working collaboratively to investigate the land use in the Stone age through to the Iron age. We used a carousel and came up with many different ideas as to why settlements may of been built by rivers. We are very much looking forward to exploring Ancient Egypt in our next unit.

In PE we have now finished our wizard and witches dance unit. We will be moving onto team games next… hopefully in the sunshine!

Have a lovely weekend!
