Team 2 WB: 8.5.23

Date: 12th May 2023 @ 1:53pm

What another wonderful week we’ve had. This week we have reached the end of our final piece of writing for the ‘Dragon Machine.’ I was so impressed with the children’s effort and enthusiasm towards there writing. There were definitely some wonderful pieces of writing, well done Team 2!

In math this week, we have finished our unit on 3D shapes and we have also started looking at time. It’s been really interesting watching the children figure out how we tell the time.

In science this week, we have continued with our unit on plants and our question for this week was ‘Why do all plants not look the same?’ We considered what plants need in order to survive such as water, sunlight, soil and air, so we discussed why plants look different. We made a table and compared plants for their similarities and differences.

In PE, we continued with over ‘hands’ unit. We were looking at the different ways to throw a ball. This week we have been practicing an overarm throw and we were working with a partner to develop this. We then applied this into a game of baseball by throwing the ball into a space and racing against fielders to make it around the base.

In Geography this week, we consolidated our locational knowledge and labelled the map of the UK. We are now able to identify the 4 countries that make up the UK including their capital cities and surrounding seas. Most of us could also locate Helsby on the map too!

We have ended our week with a Toys from home Mouse Mania and a school sleepover! Have a lovely weekend everyone and I’ll see you on Monday!
