How fast has this half term gone! At the end of another half term already and the sun is shining. This week, like always, we’ve had a busy week. It was lovely to celebrate all our learning at open evening on Tuesday, thank you to all of you that could make it. It was lovely to chat about children individually.

In math this week we have completed our unit on temperature. On Monday we had a fun lesson as we were using our thermometers to test the temperature of different cups of water. The children were very entertained and this replicated in their work books as the children did a great job.

In English this week, we have continued with our class text ‘Major Glad, Major Dizzy.’ We were very excited to read a couple of new pages in the book. We looked at what a sampler was, we discovered the character Amelia was very unkind and we wrote a letter to our own hero.

In Science this week, we have continued on our plant module. In the classroom we looked at all the things plants have in common and we spoke about our very flower and why. Then, we went on a walk of our school grounds to identify the different types of Blossom we could find. We also used the Ipads to take a picture of these so we could edit the picture as part of our computing learning.

In History, we looked at ‘The Gun Powder Plot’ and compared life back then to now. The children were blown away by the story and this lead into many different discussions.

Finally, we finished the week off with some RE and we looked at an Islamic marriage and created a poster displaying all of our new knowledge.

Sadly, we say goodbye to Mrs Plant today, so we are having a party for Mouse Mania to celebrate all of her hard work.
