Team 2 WB: 20.3.23

Date: 24th Mar 2023 @ 1:51pm

Wow! What a week from Team 2. This week the children have shown what mature and resilient characters they are becoming. With SATs just around the corner, this week we have been doing lots of practice for them. In math this week, we have carried out 2 SATs papers, one focusing on athematic and one focusing on reasoning. We have also managed to finish off our unit all about money.

In English this week, we have continued to work on the Dragon Machine. We have been working on our skills as writers by looking at different styles of sentences. We’ve worked really hard this week to include question and exclamation style questions into our writing as well as extend our sentences using because. At the end of the week, we then completed a piece of descriptive writing all about dragons and how naughty they have been!

In science this week, we finished off some of our learning about Science week. Our question was ‘If we can grow our own food, then why do humans go hungry?’ We spoke about where our food comes from and the problems are farming such as cost, growth of bacteria and bad weather. We then produced a piece of drama to share everything we have learnt.

In RE, we have been looking back to our visit of St Paul’s and Helsby Methodist and we have created a recount all about what we did when we were there and the different things we learnt about in the Christian church.

We have then celebrated our week with another Mouse Mania and we having a celebration as we say goodbye to a member of Team 2. Have a lovely weekend everyone and I’ll see you on Monday!
