Team 2 WB: 13.3.23

Date: 17th Mar 2023 @ 3:38pm

A bit of a shorter week for Team 2, but like always, it was a jam packed one! This week was Science week and Team 2’s big question was why do humans go hungry if we can grow our own food? We started off the week by looking into where our food is grown and how we transport our food to the supermarket. We explored the journey our food takes before it arrives at our supermarket. Next week, we are going to continue looking into our food and where it comes from.

In English, we have started our new class text ‘Dragon Machine’ and we had a special delivery. Somebody dropped off some clues in Team 2 to suggest what the story might be about. There was a map, a boy, a set of instructions, a grid, a pet dragon and a book on a library shelf. We worked in groups to piece the clues together to try and create a story of our own. So, today, we organized our story into a plan so we can write our descriptive piece on Monday.

In math this week we have continued to look at money. This week we have explored notes and looked the difference between them and then worked together to apply this into a problem. Towards the end of the week, we then worked on calculating change. Together, we looked at the problem and solved that first we need to add them together, then we need to subtract that from our total amount.

In PE this week we continued to work on our attacking and defending skills and on Monday Mrs Caroe joined us for some DT. DT was really fun this week as we made carrot cake, we followed the recipe and worked together to cut and mix the ingredients. We then got enjoy our cupcakes during snack time. We celebrated with Mouse Mania using the Ipads. Have a lovely weekend everyone, see you Monday!
