Team 1 WC 7th July

Hello everyone!

It’s been a hot and sunny week in Year 1, but that hasn’t stopped us from having a fantastic time!

We had a real treat this week watching the fabulous T6 performance of Bugsy Malone. The children were captivated by the singing, dancing, and brilliant acting – a big well done to all involved! In class, we’ve been getting creative! The children have been using clay to sculpt beautiful seed pods, carefully shaping and decorating their designs. We’ve also been designing colourful jackets for our Beebots – lots of imagination on display! In maths, we’ve continued learning about mass. Using balance scales, the children compared the mass of different objects and we talked about which is heavier and which is lighter. This week we consolidated our understanding of question marks and exclamation marks in English. The children enjoyed writing their own speech bubbles in the role of the bear from the book.

Coming Up Next Week

• Thursday afternoon – We're looking forward to our water fight! Please send children in with a change of clothes and a towel.

• Friday –  It's the last day of Team 1. Children may bring in a toy from home to share and play with (please nothing too precious or valuable).
