What a lovely, snowy end to our week today! We loved having fun in the snow, and celebrated our learning this week with Mouse Mania icing biscuits.

This week in English we have been adding the suffix –ing to verbs where no change is required to the root word. We wrote about what we could see inside the museum in our book ‘The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth’. Eg. I can see the gorilla eating cheese balls.

In maths, we have been subtracting numbers by subtracting ones, then by subtracting from the tens using lots of practical concrete examples to aid our understanding.

In science, we played a game of ‘who am I?’ The children had to guess an animal from some clues, eg. I am an insect. I taste food using my feet. I have beautiful wings.

In PE we used our small body parts (hands, feet, knees and elbows) to make shapes and move around on the floor and apparatus. We began transitioning from large to small body parts as we moved, and practiced balancing using these body parts.

Some of the children were due to take part in a Mini Kickers event on Thursday which was unfortunately cancelled due to the weather. The children did, however, manage to take part in some games in Frodsham Primary’s school hall, and represented the school very well!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Mrs Weeks, Miss Thomas and Mr Flaherty.
