Team 1 - W/B - 4.3.24

Date: 9th Mar 2024 @ 5:07pm

Team 1 have been making us very proud this week, in all areas of their learning.

In English, we have been focusing on describing one of the main characters in our story, Teddy. At first we looked at how to describe Teddy’s appearance using adjectives and then we worked on describing his character using evidence from the text.

In maths, we have started to work on our shape unit and the children have been showing us what they know about 2D and 3D shapes. They were also able to point out lots of different examples of cubes, cuboids, spheres and pyramids within our school.

In science, we have been continuing our work on seasons. We made predictions about our seasonal change questions and used our knowledge to decide which season had the most rainfall and which had the most day light. This work linked to our geography this week, where we compared our seasons to the seasons experienced in Trinidad and Tobago – They have very different seasons to us!

In art, we have been further exploring the work of Picasso. Our focus has been painting and we have been learning how to use block paints and powder paints. Another skill we investigated was how to create secondary colours from primary colours.

I hope that you have a fantastic weekend and we look forward to seeing you all next week for parents evening.

Miss Foster
