Team 1 WB 3.7.23

Date: 7th Jul 2023 @ 3:03pm

This week in Team 1, we have been learning about how Muslims celebrate Eid. We have our very own teacher on Islam, as one member of our team could tell us all about how his family celebrate and enjoy the special time of Eid.

In English, we have been adding the suffixes –s or –es to make singular nouns into plural nouns where no change is needed to the root word. We have also finished reading our class text, and absolutely loved the ending. I wonder if your child could re-tell the story to you of ‘Goldilocks and Just The One Bear’?

In maths, we have been learning how to tell the time to o’clock and half past the hour. The children have done this very well, and if you are able to give them lots of opportunities to read an analogue clock showing either ____ o’clock or half past ____ that would really support their learning.

In French, we learnt some of the names of the colours in French and having been using these throughout the week to practice our new knowledge.

In Geography, we learnt the names of the five oceans of the world:

  • Pacific
  • Atlantic
  • Indian
  • Southern
  • Arctic

We used a great song to help cement our knowledge.

In computing, we learnt how computers which are connected to the internet can send data between them. We modelled this using paper aeroplanes, before sending an email to Team Reception about how much they will enjoy Team 1 after the summer holidays.

Have a wonderful weekend. We cannot believe we only have 2 weeks left together!

Mrs Weeks, Miss Thomas and Mr Flaherty.
