Team 1 - WB 30th June

Date: 4th Jul 2025 @ 2:20pm

Hello everyone,

What a fantastic week it’s been for Team 1! One of the biggest highlights was our brilliant class assembly, where we celebrated all the wonderful learning we've done this year. The children did an incredible job sharing their knowledge, creativity, and confidence on stage. We were especially proud of the message they shared about ‘getting lost in a book’—a beautiful reminder of how powerful reading and stories can be in a child’s world. We hope you enjoyed the performance as much as we did. And yes… we’re still humming The Duck Song too!

Another exciting moment this week was our football taster session led by Neil (Theo’s dad) and Barry from Elton JFC. The children had an amazing time learning new skills and enjoying the fresh air. There was so much laughter and energy on the field—it was a joy to see! If your child is interested in joining Elton Junior Football Club, please check the flier that was sent home on Thursday for contact details.

In RE this week, we’ve been learning all about Muslim weddings and some of the special traditions that make them unique. We discovered that these celebrations can last for several days, and may take place in a mosque with family and friends. One interesting tradition is that the husband often gives his new wife a gift of money, known as a mahr. The children were especially fascinated by the beautiful mendhi (henna) patterns traditionally used to decorate hands during wedding celebrations. Everyone had a go at designing their own mendhi pattern – the creativity was fantastic! The classroom has been full of intricate swirls, flowers, and dots.

Have a great weekend.
