Team 1 WB 15.5.23

Date: 19th May 2023 @ 4:19pm

What a week we have had in Team 1!

The children absolutely shone in their class assembly based on the book ‘The Curious Case of the Missing Mammoth.’ They worked so hard at remembering moves and lines and they should be so proud of themselves, we certainly are!

In English this week, we have been using adjectives to describe a space creature which appeared in the spaceship in our class text, ‘Toys in Space’.

In Maths, we have been solving word problems by choosing whether we need to subtract or add numbers. This has really worked our brains!

In history, we learnt more about the history of Chester Zoo. We found out that visitors to the zoo used to be able to touch some of the animals. We even saw a photo of a lady having her handbag stolen by an elephant. We learnt that the zoo is much bigger today than when George Mottershead opened it in 1931.

In geography, we compared the seasons in England to the seasons in Trinidad. There are only 2 seasons in Trinidad: the wet season and the dry season. Both seasons are hot.

We loved making candy floss for our Mouse Mania on Friday.

Have a lovely weekend, and we look forward to seeing you all for the last week of this half term.

Mrs Weeks, Miss McElhinney, Mr Flaherty and Miss Thomas.
