Team 1 WB 12.12.22

Date: 16th Dec 2022 @ 12:41pm

We are so excited for Christmas in Team 1, and this week has been full of Christmas cheer. We began our week with the annual ‘chocolate nativity’, enjoyed by all! On Tuesday we visited the Team 3 and 4 Christmas markets. On Wednesday, we had a very special visitor wearing a red suit, with a long, white beard! He stayed around to read us a great story and answer our questions. Then, he gave us all a little chocolate treat to enjoy. We had some super games with the rest of KS1 in the hall, and enjoyed a class party in the afternoon with games and party food.

We were so sad that our pantomime on Thursday was cancelled, but the children from Dee Banks school who visited to teach us some songs more than made up for it. They were absolutely fabulous, and we had a great time singing along and learning some Makaton.

On Friday, we were happy to show off our Christmas books to the rest of the school on our Christmas book tour. We also visited the other classrooms to see their work. In the afternoon, we celebrated our achievements this week with a bonfire and marshmallows in the woodlands!

We even managed to fit in some work around all the Christmas fun. In English, we wrote about the things our main character, Nibbles, had been doing on holiday. In maths, we continued to learn about subtraction and enjoyed a quiz to check our knowledge.

It has been a pleasure to teach your children this term, and we send you all our best wishes for your Christmas holidays. Whether or not you are celebrating Christmas, we hope you all have a well-deserved rest and some happy times with family.

See you all in 2023, superstars!

Mrs Weeks, Miss Thomas and Mr Flaherty.
