Team 3 WB 6.2.23

What another great week!

In English this week, the children have enjoyed planning and writing their end of unit write. We began a 1st person narrative and tried to combine all our skills of speech, correct tenses and punctuation! We have loved sharing our story to our partners which has helped us to edit our narratives.

In Maths, we have been further exploring multiplying 1 digit by 2 digit numbers with renaming. We have been focusing on using key Vocabulary and sentences starters in our journals. We explored 2 methods and discussed which is the most efficient and why. Although our new method is challenging as it requires us to do mental maths for our first step, we found it was the most efficient! We are going to do some more practice of this until we are secure with it. We can do it team!

Team 3 have enjoyed doing a bit of learning about French colours this week. We discovered that when a word has an ‘s’ after a vowel, we don’t pronounce the ‘s’. We applied this to our French colour knowledge when saying gris (grey).

In support for Judaism week, Team 3 have been exploring the importance of a Synagogue. We enjoyed learning about the Torah, the central and most important document of Judaism, and even created our own! We predicted what we could expect to find in a Synagogue and then explored key elements to see if we were right! This has made us very excited for our upcoming trip!

It has been great to see everyone’s support for mental health week!                                                           Every morning, we have been so excited to get to school and have a boogie before we start our day! We are delighted that this will now become a part of our Monday morning routine every week to get us going for the week!

Following on from this, Team 3 came together to create a friendship flower. We each had a petal, wrote our name and drew something that represented us. We came together and discussed what is different about us and what is the same. We found that although there are differences, we are all connected in some way! We then took some time to do some happy breathing outside to clear our brains and relax.

Have a lovely weekend J
