What a busy week!
In English, we have been writing poems about a magical door. The children had to decide what may be hiding behind the door whilst also using descriptive language to decipher what they could hear, see, feel and smell in four sentences.
In Maths, we have begun to learn more about fractions, beginning with halves and swiftly followed by quarters, mainly using shaded shapes to visually represent these fractions. We have also moved on to learning about thirds and the concepts and skills applied for both halves and quarters made this much easier!
In Science, we've continued the theme of learning about materials and their properties. This week we collected a variety of materials with a wide range of properties, painting them and sticking them down on to a4 paper in order to investigate the types of patterns or shapes they create and why this might be.
We all thoroughly enjoyed cricket day! The children experienced a range of activities relating to cricket and also had the opportunity to play a cricket match amongst their friends.
Have a lovely weekend,
Miss Coppock
