Team 6 - 30.9.19

Date: 5th Oct 2019 @ 11:46am

This week in Team 6 we have been learning more about WW2. We found out about the need for rationing and what this meant for people in Britain. Using rationing ingredients, we created some fruity potato cakes, following a WW2 recipe. They went down very well!! We then looked at the use of propaganda to influence Britains and created our own propaganda style posters, advertising the fruity potato cake recipe.

Later on in the week, we looked at the works of LS Lowry and his 'Blitzed Site' painting in particular. We used his painting to work on our shading techniques and created LS Lowry style drawings of his 'Blitzed Site' using various pencils and charcoal. We will be completing these next week.

In English, we have been using our text, 'Star of Fear, Star of Hope' to help develop our dialogue writing and in Maths we have been consolidating our skills on rounding and understanding negative numbers.

We have been developing our gymnastics skills in PE and our gymnastic sequences this week were very good. We worked well in pairs, with structure and implemented some of the gymnastic moves that we had learned. Some of our performances are on Twitter!

Have a lovely weekend.

See you Monday,

Mrs Jobber

A special note to our Blog Team, who completed the class Blog on Friday afternoon but then when they saved it, it disappeared and there was no time to write it again!! They are doing a brilliant job and will continue with the blog next week (hopefully that one will save properly!!)
