What a wonderful week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning, we created our very own diary entries from Leon's perspective about finding the tent. The children carefully planned and then wrote four of their own paragraphs focussing on using language to build description in the reader's mind and applying a range of learnt skills including maintaining the past tense, using fronted adverbials and also language to impact the reader.

In our spelling work this week, our focus has been the spelling -le at the end of words. We learnt that most words that contain this spelling contain two syllables. You can reinforce this spelling at home by practising the following words:

• purple
• tackle
• settle
• handle
• candle

In our math's learning this week, we have been learning mental methods to calculate our times tables up to and including the 12 times tables. We learnt how to do this using a range of practical apparatus before applying it to word problems and fluency questions.

In our afternoon learning, we began designing our Christmas books in art, we recapped the French colours and we also learnt about the safety features on new bank notes and how they are used to prevent fraud.
