What another busy week we have had in Team 4!

In our English learning this week, we have been exploring our new class text ‘Leon and the Place Between’ which is linked to our new class theme titled ‘Circus’. We made predictions about the story, created setting descriptions for the actual circus tent and we also spent time analysing the vocabulary used by the author to build an image in the reader’s mind.

In our spelling work, we focussed on the suffix -ness and explored how when a root word ends in y e.g. happy, we need to drop the y and replace it with an -i before adding the suffix -ness. You can support this learning at home by practising the following words:

• Happiness
• Loneliness
• Silliness

In our math’s learning this week, we have been learning to count in 6’s, 7’s and 9’s. We explored the relationship between addition (repeated addition) and multiplication.

In our topic learning, we began experimenting with colours in art with Mrs Carroe, we created reports for our science investigations and we also continued practising our handwriting.
