Hope you've all got lots of exciting plans for the weekend but maybe you just need a rest after this week! We have been very busy getting all our information packs and Christmas decorations ready to send to 28 other schools around Europe. We have made Christmas puddings from felt with some excellent stitching skills and determination as well as painting elf crackers. Collage Christmas cards have also been prepared and an array of information about Christmas in our country, including diary entries, powerpoint presentations, how to make a Christmas cake, Ho Ho Helsby posters and much more!

We have also begun practising our Christmas songs - lyrics will be uploaded soon! We have 1 German, 1 French and 1 Spanish song as well as an English one which is great for our languages learning too!

On Wednesday afternoon, we got a list of addresses for the 28 schools and used the atlases to find all the different countries! We then used the iPads to find out about all the different schools, including what their schools look like and what they wear.

In English, we have written letters from the boy in Seal Surfer to his grandad, recounting the events of the book. We have worked hard to start using paragraphs in our independent work and apply adjectives, prepositions and conjunctions.

In Maths we have continued to look at mental strategies for addition and subtraction. Next week, we will be moving on to formal written methods.

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Miss Delaney
