Team 3 WB 26.6.23

Date: 29th Jun 2023 @ 9:17am

Another busy week!

We have been getting stuck into our English text and have really enjoyed writing in the present tense. We imagined that we had just seen a mythical legendary creature in the playground! We described, exclaimed and questioned within our writing pieces to show the reader our thoughts.

In maths we have been doing our unit of fractions and have used physical apparatus to investigate equivalent fractions. We noticed that we can use multiplation to find equivalent fractions quicker. To remember how to do this, we need to times the top by the bottom. We used concreate and pictorial representations to build our understanding. We will be finishing this unit and moving on to angles next week- how exciting!

In reading, our topic has been ancient Egypt! This enables us to build our knowledge from our current history topic. We now know lots about pharos and can even name a few! To support our understanding and knowledge, we made top trups cards for pharos and discussed our favourites.

In music, we have been revisiting our key words of pitch, dynamic, notes, beat and rhythm. We are getting really confident with using these words in a sentence. To support our understanding we used boomwackers to play our favourite songs using a variety of notes. We discussed why there are different coloured boomwackers and how the pitch changes when we play.

Just a reminder that Team 3 need to come in their PE kits on Monday for a full filled morning of Tennis!

Have a lovely weekend, Team 3 :)
