Team 3: 11.10.19

Date: 11th Oct 2019 @ 4:02pm

We have had another great week in Team 3! After finishing our superb retelling of ‘After the Fall’ , we have now started a new book called ‘Seal Surfer’ by Michael Foreman. We learned lots of new vocabulary to help support our understanding and writing before we delve further into the book. We learned about parts of the coast and facts about seals as well as exploring interesting vocabulary that we might use to write about the seal, the sea, the wind and fishermen when we have read more.

In maths we consolidated our work on number lines to show 3 digit numbers and have begun to work on our addition and subtraction skills by looking at how we can use related facts to help us find an answer. For example, using 3+7 to help us find the answer to 300 +700.

We continued our geography work on Monday by honing our map reading skills to name and locate rivers and seas of the UK. In science we learned the different functions of bones and in R.E began to discuss the reasons people choose to worship and how they might do this. In Art we had a fabulous time using warm colours to paint the sky in our Great Wave paintings to contrast with the cool colours of the sea and had fun creating the splashes of waves by flicking paint!

Have a lovely weekend everyone!
