Hello everyone,

Well this week in school it has been languages week! We have continued to learn lots of basic french including counting up to 10, colours and simple greetings such as "Hello, How are you"?. We have learnt all about the country France, including the names of some of the main cities, what they eat there and how you can also go on holiday there. We looked closely at the medival city of Carcassone and learnt how they have a huge castle. We created images of castles using Carcassone as inspiration. On Thursday we also got to taste some French foods including crepes, crossiants and cheese, where we described and rated them; I think this was our favourite part!!

During the week we have also had the opportunity to have tasters of several other languages. On Tuesday we completed a carousel of learning in KS1, where children learnt to count to 5 in Welsh with me and then learn lots of colours in German with Mr Lawrie!

We've had such as fun week of language learning and our French learning will continue in class each week!

Have a lovely weekend and don't forget to have a read of your reading book too!

P.S Mousemania next week is Lego building. We have lots of lego in school already so children don't need to bring any in!
