Reception - WB 3.10.22

Date: 6th Oct 2022 @ 2:41pm

It has been a VERY exciting week in Reception this week!

On Monday, we arrived in school to find a trail of flour footprints and a very large shopping bag full of ingredients and equipment in our classroom! There was also a recipe to make Gingerbread Men, which of course we did!! There are lots of pictures on Twitter if you would like to see.

On Tuesday we were sent a video of someone entering our classroom, who was making lots of noise and made a big mess! We continued the week finding clues and completing activites linked to what had been happening. So far we haven't heard anything else. BUT watch this space!! The children have found this very exciting and it has really helped them to engage with their learning around the classroom - super!

During our themed curriculum learning, we have been exploring the season Autumn. We've learnt about the features of Autumn, how the weather changes and how the environment around us changes too. We've learnt about the colours that the leaves start to change to and created our own Autumn paintings ready for our display.

In maths we have been focusing our learning on comparing amounts. We've been using the mathematical vocabulary MORE, LESS and EQUAL to describe different amounts of groups.

Have a great weekend all,

Miss Steen
