Reception - WB 30.10.23

Date: 5th Nov 2023 @ 7:47pm

Hello everyone!

We hope you all had a fun and relaxing half term break and are ready for a very busy, Christmassy half term ahead.

We started our Literacy this week, by talking about what we got up to in the holidays. The children were very excited to find out what they're friends had been doing and sharing their news too. We drew lots of pictures and have been starting to label them with sounds that we know e.g. p for pumpkin.

With it being Halloween this week, we have had a very spooky Halloween themed classroom. During Learning Time, lots of challenges have been Halloween themed including create a pumpkin face, make a magical potion, create a witches wand and explore the pumpkins. The children have enjoyed being very busy, but very excited with all of the celebrations.

We have read a story called 'A Magical Muddle' and created our own spells. Lots of children had very creative ideas and used their witches wands to cast a spell on each other.

During maths, we have been learning how to identify if a group has 'more than' or 'fewer than'. We've been using this language to describe different set of objects.

See you all on Monday,

Mrs Davies
